Ariel began her surfing journey at 16 on the shores of Maui, inspired by her father’s lifelong love for the ocean. Initially hesitant to learn, once she took the leap, she was hooked: “I love how surfing makes me feel so connected to the ocean and closer to my family.” For Ariel, surfing has since become not only her favorite pastime but also a means to further appreciate
the rich cultural diversity of Hawai‘i.
