I took my 2nd lesson at Ohana (4th lesson ever). Marcus was my instructor. I was nervous, but excited to give surfing another shot. I had a little success last time I was in Hawaii (semi-private lesson with Mark that time) and was hopeful that I might get a few rides in. I am 51, and learning something new (especially something associated with a much younger demographic and culture) is intimidating.

Marcus was kind, attentive, and most importantly, calm. He was confident in me, and his confidence helped me to feel so much more comfortable on a board than I ever had. He gave clear, succinct, and inspiring instructions, and really modeled and supported me in pacing myself. I was up and surfing on my very first wave out there, and caught many more rides during the lesson ☺️. It was SO MUCH FUN and I can’t wait to come back to Ohana Surf Project on my next trip to Hawaii.

I also wanted to comment on the general vibe of the instructors and photographer out on the water with Marcus and I that day. They were fun, professional, and most importantly, kind to each other and to the Ohana Surf Project students. I felt that they really embodied the meaning of “ohana”. They took care of each other, of us, and of surf instructors and students from other schools sharing the space with us. I think that speaks volumes about the culture of your company and makes me happy to continue to support what you are doing.

Wow!! What an amazing experience. I've never been surfing before so I didn't know what to expect. I was super nervous but surfing with Mark and Kevin made me feel so comfortable and cared for. They were both really patient and kind. Mark rode along side me and guided me every step of the way. Kevin boosted my self confidence and helped me feel at ease. Such a great time. Thanks guys.

Very memorable experience; highly recommend. We booked two parent-child packages, plus an extra private instructor for my 7 yr old. A lot of attention (total 5 staff for 4 participants-- 2 took photos, 2 instructors, plus 1 private instructor). The add-on media package was a great value too- gopro videos and still photos delivered via Dropbox

Had an amazing time. I was standing up and surfing by the third wave. The crew are amazing and would recommend them to anyone! Special shoutout to our camera lady, I didn't catch her name but she took an extra minute to help me realize what I was missing, and the next wave I nailed it! Amazing people, will always come back to Ohana!
